About Government Trail

Government Trail is an intermediate singletrack trail that travels across Snowmass all the way to Buttermilk. This trail is filled with plenty of short up- and downhill sections between forests and meadows, while wandering through the occasional stream. A portion of this trail is closed until June 28 for elk calving season.

Feel like challenging yourself? This trail serves as the backbone for the annual Golden Leaf Half Marathon that starts in Snowmass and finished in Aspen.
