About Government Trail & Tom Blake Loop
This loop is a fantastic way to experience two classic Snowmass trails: Government and Tom Blake. Start your hike in Snowmass Village and head up the summer road on Fanny Hill until you reach the start of the Village Bound trail. Hike up Village Bound until the intersection with Government trail. Take a left onto Government trail and head East across the Snowmass ski area through aspen groves and evergreen forests, over streams and stumps until you reach the intersection with Anaerobic Nightmare. Head down Anaerobic Nightmare then take a left onto Tom Blake. Follow Tom Blake Trail until it intersects with a cul-de-sac road. Walk along the road until it intersects with Faraway Road and take a left up Faraway Road for about 0.1 miles until you see the continuation of the Tom Blake trail on your right. Hop back on Tom Blake and take it until you reach the lower Vista Trail where you’ll head right, down into Snowmass Village.
Please note: a portion of this trail is closed until June 28, 2020.
These are popular mountain biking trails, please yield to bikes.
Parking
Free parking is available in the Snowmass Base Village parking structure as well as in the numbered parking lots located between the Mall and Base Village.
